JSR Student Award Competition
The JSR Foundation awards scholarships to students who demonstrate a passion for preserving, improving and enhancing public spaces through responsible and innovative land use and design. To be eligible, students must be currently enrolled in an accredited landscape architecture program that will result in a Bachelors or Masters of Landscape Architecture. A monetary scholarship is awarded each year to one deserving student. Students are required to submit a design brief for review by the JSR board. |

Application
Students who embody Jane Silverstein Ries’s commitment to the sprit of place are encouraged to enter the scholarship competition. We are now accepting submittals for the 2008-2009 school year. Design briefs are due March 10, 2009. Download Appliction >>

From numerous entries Yekaterina’s (Katya’s) submittal Changing Perspective: Farming Habitat most represented the ideals of the JSR Foundation. This study focused on the Lower Pat Hurley Neighborhood in Albuquerque, New Mexico, where a designed intervention is to serve as a catalyst to improve the quality of life of the residents.
